The University of Southern Indiana, or USI, is a public university located in Evansville, Indiana, United States. It was founded in the year 1965. The campus is spread across an area of 300 acres. The university offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse Course Topics.

USI is organized into the following academic divisions:

  • Bower-Suhrheinrich College of Education and Human Services

  • College of Liberal Arts
  • College of Nursing and Health Professions
  • Pott College of Science and Engineering

USI's athletic teams are nicknamed the Screaming Eagles. The university's athletics department is a member of the NCAA Division II and the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The main campus of University of Southern Indiana is in Evansville, IN (a medium-sized suburb). The school is a public school. University of Southern Indiana offers degrees up to the Master's degree.

The school offers more choices of majors than most colleges its size. University of Southern Indiana students most commonly major in a field related to media, art studies, medical adminstration, and nutrition and exercise therapy. Three-fourths of students accepted in 2007 had SAT math scores of 420 or more.

The school offers tenure to reward and retain some professors. In 2007, University of Southern Indiana had 9,939 enrolled students. The school makes available a lot of student housing. Student athletes at USI belong to the Great Lakes Valley Conference for major sports.
